Hi, I’m Raka. I’m a structural engineer, scholar and researcher with broad-based research and teaching experience in structures and infrastructure engineering, in addition to prior structural design-engineering experience in the oil and gas industry supporting refinery expansion projects and engineering schemes for refinery operational requirements. My research has focused on developing lifecycle prediction models for asset management of highway transportation structures such as high mast illumination poles (HMIPs), and most recently, bridge decks, superstructures, and substructures. I’m currently a NRC Research Associate at FHWA's Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center.
